What Is a Portfolio Health Score and Why It Matters

A single number that tells you how well-balanced your investment portfolio is. Here's how it works.

The Four Pillars

RupeeTracker's health score (0–100) is based on four equally weighted factors:

  • Diversification (25 pts) — Are you spread across asset types?
  • Liquidity (25 pts) — Can you access funds when needed?
  • Returns (25 pts) — How are your investments performing?
  • Maturity Spread (25 pts) — Are maturities staggered or bunched?

Score Ranges

  • 80–100 (Excellent) — Well-diversified, good returns, staggered maturities
  • 60–79 (Good) — Some room for improvement
  • 40–59 (Fair) — Significant imbalances to address
  • 0–39 (Poor) — Concentrated risk, needs rebalancing

How to Improve Your Score

  • Add investments in under-represented asset classes
  • Stagger FD maturities across different months
  • Maintain a reasonable savings account balance for liquidity
  • Regularly review underperforming investments
